We have analyzed publicly available Twitter data to provide a glimpse into the public sentiments around corporate responsibility. We seek to use public sentiments as an additional metrics to assess corporate responsibility.
As a case study, the following plot shows the public sentiment –raising from -1 (negative sentiment) to +1 (positive sentiment)– for Google for the 1 year period of 2020-2021. The throughs and peaks are indicative of notable events. In this case the firing of vital figures in the AI Ethics team of Google.
